Read the special notice (https://www.scrum.org/support/pspo-ii-pspo-iii-migration-information) to anyone who obtained their PSPO II certificate before November 18, 2019.
The Professional Scrum Product OwnerTM Level II (PSPO II) exam is available to anyone wishing to demonstrate their in-depth knowledge of the Scrum Framework and the ability to support value creation and delivery. Those who pass the exam will receive the internationally recognized PSPO I certificate that demonstrates your level of knowledge of the Scrum Framework.
Although taking a course is not required, the Advanced Professional Scrum Product Owner Experience training is highly recommended. A two-day training is not enough for most people to pass the PSPO II exam. To pass the PSPO II exam, you must rely on your own knowledge and experience.
The PSPO II exam is based on the Professional Scrum Product Owner's focus areas as shown at scrum.org/Suggested Reading (https://www.scrum.org/resources/suggested-reading-professional-scrum-product-owner-II ). The exam is aimed at testing whether you understand the role of Product Owner and therefore detailed questions are asked on the exam. If you have questions, you should think about what the information the Scrum Guide means and / or to apply content from the PSPO II focus areas.
The exam covers topics from multiple focus areas as defined by the Professional Scrum Competencies (https://www.scrum.org/professional-scrum-competencies). The specific focus areas on the exam are listed on the PSPO II page Suggested Reading page (https://www.scrum.org/resources/suggested-reading-professional-scrum-product-owner-ii). The exam is difficult and is assessed rigorously. Many questions require you to think about the meaning of what you have read in the Scrum Guide or interpret it, apply the content of the learning path for Product Owners, and especially your own experiences.
